Live: Crash shuts M4 lane at Somerset border

One lane on the M4 near Bath has reportedly been closed after a crash this evening (January 4). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lane is closed in the Bristol-bound direction between junction 17 and junction 18. Traffic is reportedly moving slowly between Chippenham and Bath after the crash, which reportedly took place shortly before 8pm today.

Traffic monitor Inrix reports: “One lane closed due to accident on M4 Westbound from J17 A350 (Chippenham) to J18 A46 (Bath / Tormarton).”
