LIVE: Long delays and six-mile queues on M56 after crash

Long delays are building on a stretch of the M56 this morning after a crash. One lane has been shut off on the eastbound carriageway between junction four and junction three near Wythenshawe. Emergency services are on the scene.

A tweet posted by National Highways said: “Lane 1 is closed on the #M56 eastbound between J4 and J3 near #Wythenshawe due to a collision. Traffic Officers and emergency services on scene. “There are 6 miles congestion on approach causing 50 min delays above normal travel time.”
