Live: M5 lanes shut after vehicle and trailer overturn

An overturned vehicle is causing delays on the M5 in Somerset this afternoon (January 8). Two lanes southbound towards Devon have been closed between junctions 23 and 24 after a vehicle. Google Maps has reported congestion and delays in the area.

Traffic cameras show the flipped vehicle across lanes one and two on the motorway. Traffic monitor Inrix reports: “Delays and two lanes closed due to overturned vehicle on M5 Southbound from J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) to J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South).Lanes one and two (of three) are closed.” This is a live blog.
