Live: ‘Multiple casualties’ as van turns into fireball after three-vehicle Cobridge Lights crash

Paramedics are reportedly treating 'multiple casualties' following a three-vehicle crash in Stoke-on-Trent. Firefighters say two cars and a van were involved in the collision at Cobridge Lights[1] outside the Mercedes-Benz garage at Cobridge Road's junction with Waterloo Road. As a result of the smash, the van is now reportedly engulfed in flames.

It is understood that police[2] and paramedics are also at the scene. A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told StokeonTrentLive: "We were called at 8.55pm to a road traffic collision involving two cars and a van at Cobridge Lights outside the Mercedes-Benz garage. The van is alight.

"There are multiple casualties being treated by paramedics. There injuries are not believed to be serious." Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports: "A53 Cobridge Road in both directions blocked due to accident and vehicle fire at A50 Waterloo Road (Cobridge Traffic Lights).

Police confirm the road was closed at around 9.10pm."
