Live: Multiple M5 crashes spark police warning amid weather warnings

Police have issued a warning after receiving multiple reports of crashes on motorways. Road crashes have been reported across the South West, including along the M5. Two lanes have been closed on the M5 at the Gloucestershire border after a crash this evening (January 1).

Motorists are queuing northbound after a collision was reported between junction 8 for the M50 and junction 7 for Worcester. Traffic monitor Inrix reports: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M5 Northbound between J8 M50 and J7 A44 (Worcester / Evesham).” It comes after an earlier M5 collision near Taunton, and a crash on the M50 near Newent.
