LIVE: North Staffordshire road shut as emergency services scrambled to scene

A road remains shut this evening after emergency services were scrambled to an incident. Pictures from the scene – on Uttoxeter Road, in Blythe Bridge[1] – show police, paramedics and firefighters at the scene. It is understood that the section of Uttoxeter Road – near the level crossing – has been closed since around 5pm.

A coach and a car appear to be inside the police cordon. One eye-witness told StokeonTrentLive: “This started at about 5pm and the police are still here now.” A Tesco Express shopper added: “There has been a serious road traffic accident.”

StokeonTrentLive has approached Staffordshire Police[2], Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] and West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] for statements following tonight’s emergency. Any witnesses can call the police on 101. This is a live blog.
