LIVE: Police and paramedics scrambled to crash as road shut

Police and paramedics have been scrambled to a crash which has closed a main road. The A522 Tean Road, in Cheadle[1], is currently blocked in both directions. Drivers have contacted StokeonTrentLive to advise other motorists to avoid the area.

The alarm was raised at 3.28pm today. Traffic monitoring site Inrix states: “The A522 Tean Road is blocked in both directions. There is slow traffic due to an accident from Freehay Road to Dandillion Avenue.”

One driver has told StokeonTrentLive: “If you are coming into Cheadle from the Mobberley end then the road is closed due to an accident. Police and ambulance are there.” StokeonTrentLive has approached Staffordshire Police[2] and West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] for statements regarding the ongoing incident.
