M25 speed camera catches Skoda driver over speed limit

Roger Welch, of Park Close, Bladon, was caught on May 13 last year speeding on the M25 between junctions 15 and 14. The 54-year-old was recorded driving in a Skoda at 79mph in a 70mph speed limit zone. Welch’s speed was recorded using an automatic speed detection device which can measure the speed of traffic in up to four lanes.

At Willesden Magistrates Court on January 8, he was fined GBP146 but he avoided disqualification. Three penalty points were added to his driving record. Welch was also ordered to pay court costs of GBP90 and a victim surcharge of GBP58.

The total amount the driver will need to pay is GBP294.
