M25 traffic live as crash between car and van leads to six-mile queues

All traffic was held on the M25 clockwise between Leatherhead and the Wisley Interchange for the A3 after a crash reportedly involving a car and a van. Drivers have been warned of long delays and traffic has built for six miles. National Highways said at 8.30am that “traffic is currently stopped” due to the collision and that National Highways traffic officers are at the scene.

It added that delays are building. The road has partially reopened, according to travel service Inrix but lanes three and four remain shut. Inrix reported: “Long delays, queueing traffic for six miles and two lanes closed due to accident, a car and a van involved on M25 clockwise from J9 A243 (Leatherhead) to J10 A3 (Wisley Interchange).

Lanes three and four remain closed by Cobham Services, after a full hold.” Emergency services have been contacted for further information. Follow our live blog below for the latest updates as we have them.
