M5 live as multi-vehicle crash causes major delays at rush hour

A multi-vehicle crash on the M5 southbound[1] was causing significant delays for motorists this evening, Wednesday, January 10. The collision occurred between junctions 18 and 19 on the Avonmouth Bridge. Four vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision. Traffic monitoring service[2] reported that four cars were thought to have been involved in the crash.

It is unclear at the moment whether anybody has been injured. All lanes had reopened by 6.30pm but some congestion remained in the area afterwards. Inrix reports: “Delays and one lane closed due to multi-vehicle accident on M5 southbound at J18 M49.”
