M50 crash: Children injured after car ends up on its roof

West Mercia Police say they were called to a report of a car on its roof near junction 3 of the westbound carriageway of the motorway at about 5.40pm. A fire service spokesperson said: “A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Ledbury Fire Station was called, along with a Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Tewkesbury, at 5.35pm on January 1 to an RTC on the M50 Westbound between junctions two and three. “Four casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

Crews made the scene safe using small tools and a Tirfor winch. Police also attended.” ALSO READ:

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.37pm on Monday to a road traffic collision involving one car at the junction of the M50 and the B4221 in Linton. “Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival we found four occupants of the car, two women who were a driver and a passenger and two children, a boy and a girl.

“All four were assessed and had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

They were conveyed to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment.”
