M6: 50 minute delays expected southbound after crash
The crash has taken place between Junction 21A and 21. There are seven and a half miles of congestion causing 50 minute delays[1].
National Highways North West have one lane has reopened.
A spokesperson said earlier: “Lanes three and four are closed on the M6 southbound between Junction 21A and Junction 21 at Warrington due to a collision. “Traffic officers are on scene and recovery is en route. “There are approximately 7.5miles of congestion on approach causing 50 minute delays above normal journey time.”
They added: “Lane three has been reopened past the scene on the M6 southbound between Junction 21A and Junction 21 of the M62 at Warrington following an earlier collision.
“Lane four remains closed for recovery which is now on scene.
“There are delays[5] of 45 mins above normal journey time with nine miles of congestion.”
