Enquiries ongoing!"

West Midlands Police[3] said the driver of the lorry sustained serious injuries. A spokeswoman for the force[4]said: "The driver of the lorry has serious injuries and remains in hospital." The crash follows a separate incident on the M6 as witnesses told of hearing an "almighty screech" yesterday afternoon.

A heavy goods vehicle then smashed through a fence and crashed down an embankment between junction seven for Walsall[5] and junction six for Spaghetti Junction. Three of four lanes were closed while the HGV was recovered. A fuel spill was cleared and the barrier was repaired overnight.
