M6 southbound crash live as huge rush hour delays expected

Drivers are facing major delays on the M6 southbound following a crash this morning, January 5. One lane was blocked on the major motorway between J5 and J4A until around 8.30am. Delays of around 50 minutes were expected.

National Highways and recovery vehicles are currently at the scene. National Highways wrote on social media platform X at 7.12am: “Lane 4 (of 4) is closed on the M6 southbound between J5 (Birmingham) and J4A (M42) due to a collision. “Recovery are now on scene.

There are delays of at least 50 minutes on approach.”
