Major police presence as street cordoned off

A street in Bootle was cordoned off today after police responded to reports of an incident which left blood all over the pavement. Four police vehicles were seen on Burns Street, Bootle[1], just off Knowsley[2] Road as officers taped off the end of the street next to a Go Local store just after 7am on Sunday, January 7. Merseyside police confirmed they had arrested a 52-year-old woman on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

People living locally told the ECHO that a man had been stabbed in the face after two people were seen arguing outside a house then along the street where they continued arguing outside the nearby Rimrose Carpets. One neighbour said two people were seen sitting on a doorstep in the early hours, with a woman lying down and a man with blood all over his shoes. On Sunday afternoon children could be seen inspecting a blood trail leading all the way up the street.
