Man, 21, left with head injury as two arrested over Cheshire street brawl

Police are investigating after a mass street brawl resulted in two arrests and a man being taken to hospital with a head injury. Shortly before 1am today (January 12), officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Brecon Way, Winsford[1]. It involved a group of people who were fighting in the street.

When officers arrived at the scene they discovered that a 21-year-old man had been assaulted. He had suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital. Two men – aged 20 and 40 – have since been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Detective Inspector Ross Hamilton said: “Firstly, I would like to reassure the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident and enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances. As part of our investigation, there will be an increased police presence in the area today as officers conduct enquiries. If anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer.

“We would also urge anyone who witnessed what happened, saw anything suspicious around the time of the incident, or has any other information which could aid our enquiries to contact us.
