Man arrested after city centre police incident
The incident in North Street, Brighton, last night (Image: Supplied) A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after an incident in the city centre. Four police cars, a dog unit and an unmarked police car were at the scene in North Street, Brighton[1], at 5.55pm last night.
The road was partly blocked and there was heavy traffic in the area with some buses diverted. A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Police were called to North Street, Brighton, around 5.55pm on Wednesday, January 3, following a report of a man in possession of a weapon. “Officers attended and safely seized the weapon.
A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and taken into custody.”
