Man arrested after ‘hit and run’ left teenage biker with serious injuries

A man has been arrested after a teenage motorcyclist was left seriously injured following a hit and run. Emergency services were called to Ffordd Parc y Fron in Holywell[1] last Saturday night following the crash, involving a motorbike and car. Police said the driver of the car initially stopped at the scene, but then drove away.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with serious injuries. Police launched an appeal to help find the driver who left the scene. They urged him to "do the right thing" and come forward to officers.

Today they issued this update. Police said: "We can confirm that a 38-year-old man from Merseyside was arrested in connection with the below incident and he has since been released on police bail whilst we carry out further enquiries. Thanks to everyone who has made contact with us."

Police are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Ffordd Parc y Fron and who may have witnessed the incident, or anybody who may have either dash cam footage or private CCTV to make contact with them.

  • Anybody with information is urged to contact officers at the Roads Crime Unit via the live webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference number A204107.
