Man borrows van, crashes it in drunk driving incident: Avon Lake police blotter

AVON LAKE, Ohio

Obstructing: Electric Boulevard

On December 29, a resident called to report a van she had lent to a man hadn’t been returned. The man had a felony warrant for his arrest stemming from a case that involved the complainant. The van was involved in a drunk driving crash in North Ridgeville, and the man was transported to the hospital.

Fraud: Norman Avenue

A resident reported receiving fraudulent phone calls from someone impersonating a city employee on December 27.

Theft: Community Drive

A resident discovered £5,000 in charges that she did not make on January 2.

Disorderly conduct: Lear Road

On January 6 around 5:15 pm, an officer observed a man on the ground in the parking lot of Isla’s Ice Cream shop struggling to stand up.

He was cited for disorderly conduct-intoxication.
