Man dead and two others taken to hospital after car hits tree
A man has died after a car hit a tree in Halesowen during the early hours. Two others were injured following the crash in Coombs Road. Emergency services were called to the scene just after 3am on Friday, January 5.
Medics found three male patients, one of whom had suffered critical injuries. Sadly, “nothing could be done” to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. The other two casualties were taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital[1] for treatment.
Police remain at the scene, with a cordon in place from the junction with Golden Orchard. Within the cordon, the vehicle remains, covered by a blue sheet. Screening has also been placed on the railings opposite the crash site.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a car that had crashed into a tree on Coombs Road at 3.17am. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene. “On arrival we discovered three male patients, one of whom was found to have suffered critical injuries in the incident.
Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. “A second patient was treated for serious injuries and a third for injuries not believed to be serious, before they were both taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.” Get breaking news on BirminghamLive WhatsApp[4] .
