Man suffers slash wounds to face and hands as woman flees North East home
Police at the scene in Hardwick, Stockton (Image: Terry Blackburn) A man was taken to hospital with slash injuries to his face and hand after being allegedly attacked by an intruder in a North East property, police have confirmed. Police said a woman fled the property unhurt after the incident at High Newham Court in Hardwick, Stockton[1], at 5am on Monday (January 8) .
A man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm and later released on police bail.
The Northern Echo: A Cleveland[2] Police spokesperson said: “Police were alerted to an aggravated burglary at High Newham Court in Hardwick, Stockton, when they received a call at 5am on Monday 8 January. “A 47-year-old man inside of the property sustained slash injuries to his face and hand and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.
“A 31-year-old woman fled the property uninjured. A 42-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm. “He was questioned by officers, then released on bail whilst further enquiries continue.
