Manhunt launched after inmate absconds from Suffolk prison

Matthew Smith has been reported missing from a Suffolk prison (Image: Suffolk police) A manhunt has been launched to find a Suffolk prison absconder. Matthew Smith was reported missing from Hollesley Bay prison at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old, previously from the Worcestershire area, is serving a sentence of five years and three months for robbery. He has been described as being 5ft 10ins tall with brown hair and eyes, and is of a stocky build. Smith also has a full beard.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Suffolk police quoting CAD 312 of January 9.
