Matlock and Darley Dale homes shut over anti-social behaviour
Two Derbyshire houses at the centre of drug issues and anti-social behaviour have been closed for three months. Magistrates in Derby granted the order on the homes in Linden Grove, Matlock, and at Lime Grove, Darley Dale, police said. A team including police, Platform Housing and Derbyshire Dales District Council have worked to deal with problems related to the properties.
But officers also thanked the wider community for their support.
Breach warning
The team also included the P3 Homeless Charity, to offer additional support to those affected. Insp Phil Booth said: “It is well understood what a significant negative impact anti-social behaviour and disorder can have on other residents and the local community, and by working alongside partnership agencies we can find longer term solutions to ease the issues. “The support of the community has been critical in helping us secure this action, and I would like to thank them for their help in building up the picture of the disorder which has been affecting them over recent months.”
Both properties are closed until 9 April. Anyone who breaches the closure order without reasonable excuse is a criminal offence punishable with jail or a fine, police warned. Follow BBC East Midlands on Facebook, on X, or on Instagram.
