Meriden live as multiple 999 crews respond to four-vehicle crash

Commuters have had to be cut free from the vehicles they were travelling in after a four-vehicle smash in Solihull. A number of 999 crews are understood to have been dispatched to Packington Lane, near Meriden, shortly before 8.30am. It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured in the crash, which happened close to the village of Little Packington.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been approached for comment. A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We have one appliance from Coleshill and one from Leamington in attendance at a 4 vehicle RTC on Packington Lane in Meriden. Crews are using cutting equipment and stabilisation equipment.”

It was not immediately clear if the road has been closed. West Midlands Police and Warwickshire Police have also been approached for information. This is a breaking news story.
