The man police are seeking in connection to the attack (Metropolitan Police) A woman in her sixties was raped by a man at a property in Mitcham, the Metropolitan Police has said. The force on Friday released a computer generated image of a man they want to speak to in connection.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on October 11 and the woman has received support from officers. “A number of enquiries have been carried out and detectives are now releasing an e-fit image of the suspect,” the Met said in a statement. The man is shown to have ginger hair and a khaki colour jacket in the photo.

In an unrelated case, the Met has charged a man with murder [1]after the discovery of a body at a shopping centre in Stratford.

Vasile Gorghescu, from Southampton, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with murder on Thursday. Officers found the first victim, a 21-year-old man, inside Strawberry Hill station around 11.50pm on Monday. He died at the scene.

Six minutes later, a 16-year-old boy was discovered with a laceration to his leg in nearby Alexander Close. His condition is not being treated as life-threatening. British Transport Police alongside Metropolitan Police colleagues and London Ambulance Service attended.

Police are treating the two incidents as linked.
