Middlesbrough bar in appeal after being ransacked with Christmas tips and booze stolen

A bar says its hard-earned Christmas tips along with two bottles of booze were stolen by callous burglars on Friday. The popular Legends Bar, in Middlesbrough[1], has issued a plea for witnesses to come forward after it was ransacked in the early hours of the morning. The Longlands[2] bar has offered a cash reward for anyone with information to come forward.

Staff reported two men forced their way into the bar before fleeing with cash and spirits. In a Facebook[3] post, the pub shared images of the two suspects and asked for anyone with information to come forward, the post reads: “Early hours of this morning these two delightfuls broke in to our bar at 4.20am, forced the shutter open, smashed the window, broke the fruit machine and took off with a container of staff Xmas tips and two bottles of spirits while another man was outside on look out. “It’s hard enough as it is with the cost of living crisis and pubs closing every day.

We try to keep things good for the community of Longlands and we do plenty of work with charities, we are good friendly people who will help anyone but this has gone too far this time. The damage that’s been done is on another level. “I’m willing to pay a serious cash amount to find out who these are it’s that simple I will not breath a word or mention anything I want these names Pictures are not great I’ve got voice recognition of the people who burgled us and I know someone out there will know or heard something.

Thank you to everyone who supports us and all the best to all you fantastic customers.” Cleveland Police[4] has been contacted for comment. For breaking news in your area direct to your inbox every day, go here[5] to sign up to our free newsletter
