Midwife injured as car hit crowd tells of recovery

Ms Norris said on X, formerly Twitter, that she had been injured "whilst myself and another passer-by were trying to help a woman who had collapsed".

She described the incident as a "tragic mess" and "awful for all the families involved, but worst for Chris' family", according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service[1].

In a further update on her condition, posted on Facebook, Ms Norris said her surgeons were "pleased" with how her knee was healing.

She added: "They screwed the top of my fibula back on and also reconnected all the side ligaments.

"They have given me a new, hinged brace. It's locked straight currently and I have to keep it on 24/7 for two weeks. Then I have an appointment to review and start physio if appropriate.

"I came home in a lot of pain but it's already much better, I've only needed half the painkillers today."

Mr Jhangur, of Whiteways Road, Sheffield, appeared in court in connection with the incident on 2 January[2].

His trial date has provisionally been set for 15 July this year.
