My collection of Minis worth £100k were stolen… I spent months restoring them

A MAN has been left devastated after his collection of restored Minis worth more than GBP100k were stolen. The classic motors were stolen from Samuel Davies, who owns UKMinis, a website which gives people the chance to win a restored, classic Mini[1] every single week.

Samuel’s warehouse was targeted, with four of the iconic cars worth around GBP140,000 nabbed by brazen thieves. Cops are now investigating the theft of a 1976 Mini pick-up truck, a 1983 Austin Mini, a 1972 Rover Mini and a 1986 Mini from Norton, South Yorks,.

The car thieves also emptied diesel from two tanks and took another two engines and a car trailer. Three of the cars that were stolen, were due to be raffled off on his website in the near future. Meanwhile the 1986 Mini was from Samuel’s personal collection.

Now the car enthusiast is “shocked” that someone would do this to his small business because he works “incredibly hard” to restore the classic cars. Samuel said: “I am in total shock that someone would do this just before Christmas to a small business owner like myself. “We work incredibly hard at UKMinis to purchase the best Minis we can find and restore each one to better than new condition before we give our customers the chance to win these iconic classic Minis every week.”

Samuel is now offering an award of GBP5,000 per stolen car and is urging anyone who has any information, to contact him “immediately”. He said: “To lose a sum of money this large will be totally devastating.

“We call on anyone that sees any of the Minis or has any information to contact myself or the police immediately.” Anyone who has any information on where the Minis are, is urged to contact [email protected] or visit www.ukminis.co.uk. It comes after a stash of stolen luxury cars were discovered[2] just moments before being shipped by crooks.

The four SUVs – including an orange Jeep Wrangler worth roughly GBP50,000 and a blue Toyota Rav 4 valued at around GBP40,000 – were found by police in Essex on December 29. Meanwhile, a Jaguar E-Type that was “left in a barn” for nearly 50 years[3] after a crash has sold for a bargain price – and it could be worth much more. The gorgeous classic was put up for auction on eBay after decades of storage and is in need of some major restoration[4].

And a Range Rover developed by TV icon Noel Edmonds[5] went up for sale – including some unique features that transform it into a “mobile office”.
