Oldham crash: Person cut from car and taken to hospital

The crash took place after 10am this morning on Rochdale Road, with three fire engines attending along with a technical response unit. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed used specialist cutting equipment to rescue a person from one of the cars, with the person then taken to hospital. A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At just after 10.30am today (January 5) three fire engines from Philips Park, Blackley, and Broughton fire stations as well as the technical response unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne fire station attended a crash involving two cars on Rochdale Road, Manchester.

“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue a person from one of the vehicles. They were then taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. “Crews made the scene safe and were in attendance for around one hour.”

Both Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service were approached for comment.
