One in hospital after crash on Catcote Road, Hartlepool

Emergency services attended the collision, which was at the junction of Catcote Road and Marlowe Road in Hartlepool at around 8am, following reports of a crash. After arriving on the scene, paramedics and police sealed off the road to allow them to work. Images from the scene showed the van on its side and police tape outside a row of shops, while police could be seen standing next to the overturned vehicle.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on Catcote Road, Hartlepool this morning (8 January) at 8.12am. "We dispatched two ambulance crews, one clinical team leader and two HART crews (Hazardous Area Response Team).

One patient was taken to North Tees Hospital."

Cleveland Police haven't issued a statement on the incident - but have been contacted by The Northern Echo.
