Paramedics taken to hospital as ambulance involved in crash

The incident occurred at around 6.40pm on Monday, January 8 on the A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett. An ambulance and a car were involved in the crash, but there were no serious injuries sustained by any party. The two ambulance crew members were taken to hospital for assessment, but they were not admitted.

The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) also revealed that there were no patients onboard at the time of the crash. A spokesperson for SWASFT said: “One of our double-crewed ambulances was involved in a road traffic collision on Monday 08 January at 18:38hrs on the A3102 near Royal Wootton Bassett. “There was no patient on board when the collision happened.

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and an operations officer to the scene.” The ambulance was not on blue lights at the time, the service said. A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added: “At around 6.40pm on Monday, January 8, we responded following a collision between an ambulance and car on the A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett.

“There are not thought to be any serious injuries.”
