Partick road taped off after pedestrian hit by car with huge emergency response

Police taped off a road in Partick[1] this afternoon after a pedestrian was hit by a car which prompted a huge emergency service response. Several police officers, paramedics and fire fighters stormed Beith Street at around 1.35pm on Friday, January 12, following the crash near the train station bridge. The man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The nature of his injuries remain unknown.

Beith Road was closed in both directions with traffic tailing back towards Rosevale Street. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.35pm on Friday, 12 January, to a report of a crash on Beith Street in Glasgow involving a car and a pedestrian.

“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“The road was closed for recovery.”

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
