Police appeal after hit and run crash between car and pedestrian in North Belfast

Police have issued an appeal following a hit and run crash between a car and pedestrian in North Belfast. At around 9pm on Tuesday, January 2, the hit and run collision occurred on the Crumlin Road[1] close to Abbeydale Park. The vehicle involved is a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra which is missing a passenger side wing mirror as a result of the crash, officers said.

Police[3] in North Belfast have issued an appeal for witnesses and anyone with further information to get in touch. In a social media post, they said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have information that could assist us with enquiries into a Hit and Run Road Traffic Collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Crumlin Road close to Abbeydale Park at approximately 21:00 hours on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. “The vehicle is believed to be a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra which would be missing a passenger side wing mirror as a result of the collision.

“We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact us on 101 quoting serial number 1727 02/01/24. You can also report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
