Police appeal after woman in her 50s dies in Warwickshire crash

Police have released more details about the VW caddy van crash that killed a woman. The woman, who has not been identified but was aged in her 50s, sadly lost her life in the collision on the road between Leamington and Kenilworth[1] yesterday afternoon. She was behind the wheel of a VW caddy van that left the A425 Kenilworth Road, flipped, and ended up in a ditch around half a mile before the Ramada Hotel.

Firefighters responding to 999 calls gave the woman CPR at the scene. Medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service then took over, but sadly nothing could be done to save her life.[2] A man, who was a passenger in the van, was assessed by paramedics before being released without injury.

The woman’s next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers from the force.

Now police are keen to hear from any witnesses in the area at the time. “Enquiries are continuing and we’re encouraging anyone who was travelling along the stretch of road that saw the incident, the moments prior to the collision, or the manner in which the VW was being driven to speak to us,” a Warwickshire[4] Police spokesperson said. “If you have information or footage that can help our ongoing investigation, please contact the force[5] quoting incident 252 of 2 January.”
