Police arrest a man in Ashley Road after public concerns

Dorset Police’s Neighbourhood Policing Team were joined by the force support group and drone unit at an address in Ashley Road on Thursday, January 11. A man was arrested on suspicion of one count of harassment and three counts of Section 4 Public Order offence. A spokesperson for Poole Police said: “You may have seen a large police presence, this was to conduct the arrest enquiry safely, and there was nothing for the wider public to be concerned about.”

Police said the man also received a Community Protection Warning Notice (CPW), which seeks to deal with the longer-term anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the community. Poole Neighbourhood Police Force said it was made aware of the ‘detrimental effect’ a man was having on the community and the situation had escalated ‘in such a short time frame.’ The force said through a partnership with the BCP Council ASB team and internal departments, officers were able to gain a “positive outcome efficiently”.

Poole Police said: “This supports that reporting suspicious and concerning behaviour can be vital with assisting us with the detection of crime[1] and that community intelligence is invaluable when it comes to gathering evidence and locating offenders.”
