Police give update on Charminster Road attacks on Christmas Eve

Police manning a cordon by the Charminster Road Subway (Image: NQ) A STABBING in Bournemouth[1] in the early hours of Christmas Eve continues to be investigated by police. No one has yet been arrested after a man in his 40s sustained stab wounds in Charminster Road.

The man attended hospital with wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening. The stabbing happened at 3am with police made aware of the incident at 4.54am. The incident was one of two separate attacks to occur in the same road within just two hours.

A man, also aged in his 40s, was found with a serious head injury following an alleged assault at 4.44am. A 33-year-old man from Poole[2] was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. A Dorset Police spokesperson said he remains on police bail.

As previously reported, police officers attended with cordons put in place along the high street.

Forensic officers also attended and investigated both scenes.
