Police hunting for missing Annie Dryden, 20, search remote beauty spot close to train station where she was last seen

Detectives worked with mountain rescue teams in a desperate search to find a missing 20-year-old woman who vanished close to a beauty spot.
Annie Dryden was seen boarding a train at 2.09pm at James Cook train station in Middlesbrough on January 4.
She was last seen on CCTV getting off at around 2.38pm at the tiny hamlet of Battersby, North Yorkshire and her whereabouts remain unknown.
Yesterday, police conducted a search in rough terrain near the station with the help of mountain rescue teams and police helicopter crews.

Police say they are concerned for the 20-year-old’s wellbeing after she disappeared
Detectives are concerned for her welfare and are appealing for information.
The area where Annie was last seen is close to hiking and biking trails.
Walkers, runners, cyclists and residents in the rural areas where the police have been searching are urged to get in touch if they spot any sign of the 20-year-old.
Inspector Andrew Ingram of North Yorkshire Police, previously said: ‘We remain very concerned for Annie’s welfare and appeal directly to her that if she sees or hears our appeal, to please get in touch with your family, friends or the police and let us know that you are safe.

‘If you prefer you can let the Missing People charity know that you are safe and they can pass on a message on your behalf.
You can call them on 116 000.
‘We also appeal to local people including hikers, runners, cyclists, local residents and farmers who are out and about across the moors and hills, to please keep an eye out for Annie and get in touch if you believe you have seen her.
‘We are also asking local people to check their sheds and outbuildings for any sign that someone has sought shelter.’

Superintendent Marc Anderson North Yorkshire Police said last week: ‘As time goes on we are very concerned for Annie’s welfare.
‘We are looking to locate her safely and would ask her to make contact with the police or contact someone in her family, as they are also obviously very worried.
‘From our enquiries, we have established that Annie headed to Battersby by train on Thursday afternoon, 4 January, and so we’d ask anyone in that area or the surrounding areas to contact us urgently if they have seen her.’

She is described as 5ft 10, slim and has dark hair with a distinctive blonde fringe.
She also has a visible scar above her top lip.
Anyone with information or anyone who may have seen Annie is asked to contact police urgently on 101, and quote reference number 002768.
