Police issue re-appeal to find Land Rover after man seriously injured in M74 crash

A re-appeal has been issued following a crash on the M74[1] which left a man with serious injuries. Officers raced to the northbound carriageway at J7 Larkhall[2] following reports of a crash between 7.25pm and 7.45pm on Monday, December 18. Police[3] say the incident involved a black Jaguar XK8 car.

They are also looking for information surrounding a Landrover Defender which was seen in the area.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward and assist with enquiries. Sergeant Elaine Scott, of the Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information or who may have seen the crash to get in touch.

We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a newer style Landrover Defender, with no rear-mounted spare wheel, using that stretch of motorway around that time.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3801 of Monday, 18 December, 2023.”
