Police raid addresses in Birmingham city centre and Erdington as man charged with drugs offences
A man has been charged with drugs offences after police raided addresses in Birmingham. Ian Farrell has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and possession of cocaine. The 23-year-old was held after officers carried out two warrants at addresses in Edgbaston[1] and Birmingham city centre[2] in the early hours of last Friday, January 12.
Farrell appeared before JPs at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 13. He was remanded into custody. It follows an investigation by the police’s County Lines Taskforce.
Operation Target. A police statement said: “We have charged a man with supplying Class B drugs and possessing cocaine after we carried out warrants at two addresses in Birmingham. Ian Farrell, aged 23, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and possession of cocaine.
“He was remanded into custody where he appeared at Birmingham Magistrates last Saturday for a first hearing. He was remanded in custody to appear at crown court at a future date. The arrest was made after officers carried out two warrants at addresses in Edgbaston[4] and Birmingham city centre[5] in the early hours of last Friday.”
