Police seal off road in Greenock after ‘serious’ incident

Officers have taped off an area of Banff Road next to its junction with Caithness Road. A large police presence has been spotted at the scene, with police cars and vans lining either side of the road to secure the area. An eyewitness told the Telegraph they saw passengers being unloaded from a stopped bus.

The source said: "It was sealed off around 5pm I think, there are loads of police there. "I saw a bus being emptied and reversed out of the area too, but I couldn't see what had caused all the commotion. "Whatever has happened it looks serious."

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
