Police update on A9 crash at Borgue in Caithness

Police Scotland has sent further details on the crash at Borgue[2] near Berriedale on the A9 this morning and said a ambulance services were involved. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving one vehicle on the A9 near to Berriedale at around 10am on Thursday, 4 January, 2024. Ambulance were contacted.”

Traffic Scotland[3] originally highlighted the vehicle accident and stated: “The A9 at Borgue is currently restricted in both directions due to a road traffic incident.

Motorists are advised to use caution on approach.” The accident was first noted at 10.03am and Traffic Scotland stated it occurred at Borgue. Northbound and southbound traffic has been affected on the A9 Newport stretch to the A99 at Latheron.

Motorists should expect longer than normal journey times.
