Possible mechanical issue plunges dump truck into tree line on Route 16 in New Hampshire
DOVER, NH (WGME) — Authorities say a mechanical issue could be to blame for a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Dover, New Hampshire that sent a dump truck into the tree line on Route 16. New Hampshire State Police report that at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, they were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Route 16 northbound in Dover. The driver, a 60-year-old from Concord, allegedly lost control of his Peterbilt Dump Truck and swerved off of the highway just past Exit 9.
The vehicle slowed to a stop in the tree line. The driver is reported to have complained of soreness and to have gotten treatment at a local urgent care. The area surrounding the crash was closed for over three hours for recovery and cleaning.
The cause of the crash appears to be a mechanical issue, but the crash is still under investigation.
