Recap after police close Huntingdon Road after incident involving car and pedestrians

A pedestrian was left in a ‘serious condition’ following a crash involving two pedestrians and a car on Thursday (January 4). Part of Huntingdon Road in Cambridge will remain closed overnight for emergency services to conclude investigations. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians on Huntingdon Road, Cambridge at 9.03am today (4 January).

The road was closed at just before 10am.” Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, and a response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene[1], according to an East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson. They added: “The two pedestrians were transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment, one of whom was in a serious condition.”

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: “A1307 Huntingdon Road, Cambridge. This road is currently closed until 5/1/24 between the junctions with A1134 Victoria Road and Buckingham Road following a road traffic collision this morning to allow emergency services to conclude their investigations.” Do you want more of the latest Cambridgeshire news as it comes in?
