Police issue update to say they have sadly found missing man’s body

Cheshire Police have issued an update to say that, sadly, a body has been found at the side of the A5117 in Ellesmere Port today. They say that the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time. Police say they were conducting a search for a missing man when they made the tragic discovery this morning.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 10.30am today, Wednesday 10th January, a search for a missing man in Ellesmere Port sadly resulted in a body being found at the side of the A5117, Strawberry Way East. The man’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by officers.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.

The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident, although it has since reopened.”
