A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “One of the main routes near Stokesley is currently closed due to a serious crash.
“The A172 near Swainby will be shut for a number of hours to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
“Access from the A19 is not currently possible and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.”
