Road through town to close throughout day for nearly two weeks (Image: Daily Echo) ROADWORKS through a town centre are expected to cause disruption for two weeks. The Wareham Road, running through Corfe Mullen, is due to close from Monday, January 8 from 9am to 6pm.

Dorset Council will be resurfacing a stretch of road between Blandford Road at the Windgreen Roundabout to Handhan Road. The work is due to end on Thursday, January 18 and the closure does not include weekends. Access will be available only for residents who will be directed by a traffic[1] management team, according to the authority.

Buses will not be able to travel between Hillview roundabout and Lockyer’s Road, and will instead be diverted in a loop from Hillview back to Blandford Road. Dorset Council said: “A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.” From Tuesday, January 9, the A350 will be closed near Corfe Mullen for tree felling work.

Blandford Road North, between Beacon Hill between Old Wareham Road and Rushall Lane, will be closed completely for 24 hours each day.

However, the work may end early on Thursday, January 11.

Dorset Council said an alternative route following the A35 and A31 will be signposted.
