Roundhay Road Leeds shut by police live as cordon to be in place ‘for hours’
Police have shut a section of Rounday[1] Road in Leeds[2] as officers work at the scene of an accident. Drivers are being told to avoid the area as the cordon is expected to remain in place “for a number of hours”. West Yorkshire Police have confirmed an investigation is behind the closure.
Officers are attempting to reconstruct an accident which happened on Friday (January 5) outside the Tesco store on Roundhay Road.[3] The road is shut from the junction of Gledhow Wood Road to the entrance of the Wickes store. The cordon was put in place at 11.15am.
A spokesperson added: “The cordon is expected to be in place for a few hours and officers apologise for any disruption caused. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes while police work is conducted.” We’ll bring you the latest on the closure in our dedicated live blog below.
