Six-vehicle crash sees Cambridgeshire road closed due to ‘icy conditions’
Six vehicles were involved in a crash on a Cambridgeshire road on Thursday (January 11). Branch Bank was closed between Ely[1] and Littleport while police attended. The crash and closure were first reported shortly after 7am.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area between Queen Adelaide and Littleport. A Cambridgeshire[2] Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.14am with reports of a collision involving six vehicles on Branch Bank, but there were no reported injuries. Officers attended, the vehicles were recovered and the road was closed for safety reasons due to icy conditions.”
Cambridgeshire County Council said on Wednesday night that gritting teams would be out across the county. They advised road users to take extra care when travelling in icy conditions. Do you want more of the latest Cambridgeshire news as it comes in?
