Smash on M2 between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 6 for Faversham prompts delays

A crash on a motorway is causing long delays. Traffic is queuing on the coastbound carriageway on the M2 between Junction 5 for the Stockbury[1] roundabout and Junction 6 for Faversham[2].

The crash is understood to have happened shortly after 10am prompting a strong emergency service response. A police spokesman said: “We were called at 10.25am today to a report of a collision between Junction 5 and 6 on the M2.

No injuries were reported. “Officers attended and the vehicles were away by 11am.”

Kent Highways said in a statement this morning: “Reports of a road traffic collision heading coastbound on the M2 between Junctions 5 and 6. “Emergency services en route.

Please use caution on the approach.”
