Southbound lanes on section of Auckland’s Southern Motorway reopen after crash

Road safety campaigner calls for new strategy as holiday road toll spikes. Credits: Image - NZTA; Video - Newshub Southbound lanes have reopened on Auckland's Southern Motorway after a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday morning.

Southbound lanes were blocked between Papakura and Drury due to the crash near the Beach Rd interchange from around 11:20am. Police said shortly after 1pm the lanes have since reopened. Police said two people were seriously injured.

St John said they were taken to Middlemore Hospital.
